Sunday and Monday

Monday, June 01, 2015

My Sunday ended up being kind of a "lost" day, due to some extreme fatigue. Didn't get much of anything done, and it seemed like it took me forever just to get my grocery shopping list done and my coupons ready. Usually, if I take a nap, I try to do it early in the afternoon so that it doesn't interfere with my sleep, but I put it off until after 3pm. I tried by then to resist the urge, but I was so tired I just had to give in, and ended up taking a 2 hour nap. And although it did make it harder to fall asleep when I went to bed for the night, I am feeling better today. I think it was just all the activity from the earlier in the week; being "on the go" more than I am use to, and all the changes to my usual daily routine.

I've been having a flareup of the bone pain in my left hip for over a week too, and the pain radiates down to my knee. I've been having to take my pain meds a little more often than usual. I think part of it is all the crazy changes in the weather again. We went from having hot and humid weather, a few rainy days, and now nights getting cold enough that there is a risk of frost.

We had frost advisories last night and I had to cover up a few plants, and we have advisories out for tonight too. Looking at the forecast for the rest of the week, I think there will be advisories for tomorrow night too.

Had my usual standing order at the lab to check my CBC; hemoglobin was 11.6, it was 11 last week, so that means it's holding steady.

Penny also took me grocery shopping. I was smart this time and used an electric cart, having learned my lesson last week about trying to walk around in a huge store with the hip pain issues. And because I used the cart, I wasn't as sore and tired when I got home, and I even had enough energy for a chair workout this afternoon.

    Dear Shari,
I'm sorry you're having hip pain down to your knee. Thank goodness you have the option of using electric carts. You did really well to do a workout today considering you were in pain; that's awesome. After all that's been happening, it's not surprising that you were tired. I hope you'll be able to get some decent sleep and recuperate this week. I'm glad to read that your haemoglobin was steady. It would have been a boost to get some good news, I'm sure!
    Sending prayers and big hugs,

I took a nap last night, before dinner and was surprised it only took me one hour! It usually takes at least four hours. And I was able to sleep over night, which is always good! emoticon

I'm sorry your hip and leg are hurting you. We had a really warm weekend in the 80s, and now today it is in the 50s! Pretty weird weather. At least we don't have frost on the West Coast. We did get some earthquakes over the weekend, off the coast, though. I've been kind of worried about earthquakes. Everyone's been talking about them, saying they've had them by them. Scary!

Sorry you are having so much pain. It's nice you could get in a good nap but I do agree that getting it early is important. Take care! The weather sounds a bit strange but it seems to be strange everywhere right now.

Are you able to take any meds like Alleve for the extra pain? Sorry to hear of your difficult days.

Last week was a really busy week for you. I hope you are able to recuperate some more this week and your pain has a chance to go down some more. Good for you for using the cart in the store. I'm sure Penny understood why you wanted to do that.

That's good news about your hemoglobin. Every little bit helps.

Covering plants from frost is a pain. I had to do that three times this spring. In my case it was because I planted things about a month before the last frost date. I didn't lose anything so it was all worth it. I hope you don't have too many cold nights before summer truly kicks in for you.

The CBC was good to read about. Sounds like you had a good two days all in all. You continue to amaze and inspire me more than you'll ever know. emoticon
