When I saw the title of your blog Jeannie "Forming New Habits: How Long Does it Take?", I thought... it takes as long as it takes!!! And I know this because I've experienced it first hand here at Sparkpeople
Excellent article for sharing... and like the others it's good to know I'm normal I'm one of those 365 days people
The last couple of sentences in the article say it all, "At the end of the day, how long it takes to form a particular habit doesn't really matter that much. Whether it takes 50 days or 500 days, you have to put in the work either way.
The only way to get to Day 500 is to start with Day 1. So forget about the number and focus on doing the work."
I love the SPAT info on the Start Page. As the numbers grow, so does my motivation.
Wonderful article. Thank you so much for sharing. 1396 days ago
I heard the 21 day thing many times over the years, and I just thought I flunked habit forming. The only habit I made in my adult life is making my bed every day. I cringe thinking of not doing it!
Now if healthy eating could become a habit in less that 5 years! 1396 days ago
