500 Days Milestone...
Tuesday, May 26, 2015
Today marks 500 days of SparkPeople in my life. When I started out as an irritated, 225 pound, obese woman sixteen months ago, I was skeptical that I would do what I had planned--lose, lose, lose, and get healthier.
I was irritated because I hate exercise, and I love food! I was irritated because I knew that I would have to stay on this journey for a long, long, long time, give up a lot of sinful foods that I love, and possibly exercise. All that is true. I had to give up fried foods, bread, and frequent servings of cake.
In return for counting calories, tracking my water intake, and having a SparkPeople presence, I have lost over seventy pounds, with twenty left until I reach my maintenance goal. I am no longer irritated, nor am I obese. I am healthier according to my doctor.
At 153 pounds, I wear size 8 and 10 pants sizes depending on the brand, and I wear women's small to medium blouses, when I used to wear size 20 and 2X sixteen months ago.
I am a gym-hater, so exercise is a word I do not favor. I Stand Up Paddle Board every weekend (both mornings). I take ice-skating lessons every week, and I hula hoop almost daily. These are fun activities that I do a lot on a regular basis, and I track them at SparkPeople.
A lot has changed after 500 days of SparkPeople in my life. I am thrilled with the results from my first 500 days of this long, long journey! It has made the last twenty pounds seem so attainable--piece of cake!
