WHY...Am I Still Fat when my house is full of healthy food!?!

Wednesday, May 13, 2015

Uhhhhh.... I am so pissed at myself today. For about an entire week I have fallen off the grid. I would do so well during the day then BOOM... nighttime. And all bets are off. Last night I counted 26 times between 8-11pm that I actually opened the fridge door. Sometimes walking away with a treat and other times walking away empty handed.

I am actually thinking of getting a lock for the damn fridge. I have all the "good, healthy stuff" in the house like bags of salad, fruits, smoothie mixes, protein powder, and plus I cook my food. SO WHY THE HELL AM I STILL FAT...... the bad food still goes in my mouth and a week later I still have unopened bags of salad taking up shelf space.

I am so sorry for this rant but I really need to get this out before I explode, or cry, or just staple my lips shut with my industrial stapler here at my desk.

Ok that last comment made me laugh at how rediculous I sound. (Breathe) emoticon

Today I just feel defeated and tired of always taking 2 steps back when I am on a good streak. I wonder if I will ever get this right.

You're going to DO this, Nikki. Be easy on yourself.

Mental Rehearsal - daily visualization that causes your mind to orient itself toward what you REALLY want as oppose to the conditioned impulses that sometimes compel you to act in contradiction to your will.

Find a way to get your mind to DESIRE the healthy stuff and dislike the harm the junk food does to you. It's not an easy self-conditioning, but the more you focus your mind on the attractiveness, fresh taste, gorgeous color, and 'feeling better' benefits of the good stuff (while rehearsing in your mind all the negatives of the lousy foods (including the lying marketers, greedy manufacturers, and others who don't give a damn about you or whether their junk ends up making you miserable).

When you daily see yourself (and FEEL) yourself rightly moving toward what you want - so that the imagery is compelling you to make the right choices - then it will be much, much easier.

    You are going to win.

it might help if you pre-plan to have a snack that is satisfying. Sometimes I keep searching for that one thing that will hit the spot, but I can't quite find it on the first or fifth try! I've found some frozen chocolate yogurt bars that are so good and only 90 calories. They really satisfy my sweet tooth and I find that I stop looking after eating one. Maybe you could save 100 or 200 calories for the evening on something that you will feel is a treat and maybe that will stop the endless search for that one thing that will satisfy the urge. Just a thought! You can do it! emoticon

Put something up on your refrigerator door that will remind you why you want to lose the weight. Pictures possibly?
