A little competition 'mongst the fabric slingers...

My boss has been freaking out because she's gained weight. She's a tall, slender woman, and I can't tell she's gained, but she insists she has (and I can tell you it's not from eating bad but from the insane amount of stress that we've all been laboring under). She got herself a FitBit and has been in competition with her niece to see who can do the most steps in a day... and now she's getting our whole store in on the "fun."
One of my favorite coworkers, Taylor, told me on FB chat that our boss wants to have a Biggest Loser competition at work. 4 weeks to see who can lose the most weight. Doesn't sound exactly healthy, and I bet the winner will gain half of it back... but whatev's. *lol* Five bucks to enter, and winner take all.
"Well, that's not exactly fair," I quipped. "I have a hormone problem that actually makes me GAIN weight, so I'd never have a shot at winning. The only times I do lose is when I CAN'T eat. So... all y'all have to do is give me an ear infection or cause me to have a Mono relapse and it's in the bag!" Anyway, long conversation short, after I buy a new pair of sneakers I might be meeting up with Taylor to do laps around her neighborhood. She said we could also go get memberships at Planet Fitness which is down the street from work, which I am wary of after reading about them... and I said we should go hike at the dunes. I haven't hiked at the dunes in years, and it's no fun without a buddy.
So... Universe, is this your way of giving me a helping hand? :)
My water intake has been re-upped. My food choices are minded. I've fiiiinally ordered DVD copies of my bellydance VHS's that have been sitting abandoned since the VHS died (Old skool cool, ha!). I have a new Spark Tracker coming since the old one shuffled loose the mortal coil. Now, I just need to get myself some new sneakers and some more workout gear. As it is I have one sports bra that has seen better days and a nice pair of stretchy capris that somehow got a hole in the cheek (easy fix). And then... then put my head together with The Taylor and work out a workout plan. Good times.
