Pepacton Ride

Sunday, May 03, 2015

Just a quickie...late, bed's a-callin'! :-)

For a 34 mile ride, we had a rough last half as we crossed over the northern edge of the Pepacton Reservoir with a lot more climbing than we bargained for. After only a little way in to the northern edge our bike club president caught up with me to say that some of the newer riders were having a rough time keeping up so we decided to beat it on back to the covered bridge where we started so that he and I could grab our respective vehicles and drive back to pick up riders in distress.

Little did we know that this would be the most challenging part of the ride filled with many climbs! Here's our route:

Here's a couple of pics earlier on the southern side of the reservoir:

Afterward we had a lovely potluck meal at the covered bridge. This was the last group ride led by a long-standing member who is due to be moving out west pretty soon. Very nice to catch up with her one more time to bid her farewell!

Coupla pics to wrap up:

Gorgeous day, great folks, great ride! Who could ask for more?

Make it a great week everyone!

Nice to see a side view and see that I look trimmer than my overly critical self feels!
