One way to reach a long term goal is to set short term goals to reach and celebrate.
Example: If you need to lose 50 pounds by Christmas 2015, set a short term goal to lose 5 pounds by ?? date. When you reach that goal set another one then another and so on. This type of goal setting was how I lost 75 pounds back in 2008-2009. To be able to celebrate a short term success helps to keep the motivation and excitement going.
