I'm Not Perfect, and That's Okay
Friday, May 01, 2015
Because I had only lost 1 pound in my first 2 weeks on SP, I kept careful watch of what I ate this past week. I wanted to make sure I wasn't miscalculating my calorie intake and also wanted to identify any areas that I could improve. My eating this week was good, but I did have the occasional 'slip-up.' I ate popcorn one evening and had some fudge on another. But in general, I ate according to my meal plans, making sure to get 5 servings of fruit/vegetables a day (had pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, asparagus, green beans, and salads w/low-cal dressing). Also had fish (salmon, tilapia and tuna) and several days of chicken breasts.
I wasn't able to exercise as much. I was doing mostly walking, but now I'm experiencing pain in my knees and left leg. I fear that when I was walking, that I didn't warm up properly and may have torn something in my left leg. I have a doctor's appointment but not until May 18, so for now, I'm just doing seated exercises and the most minimal of walking.
It would be so easy to quit and use the excuse that my knees hurt. But there are too many exercises that can be done that don't cause knee pain. And eating wisely every day has nothing to do with my knees at all. So there, no excuses. I'm sticking to my plan and though I may have the occasional unplanned 'goodie' I'll make sure not to go overboard. I have conceded to my imperfections, but I will keep them in check.
Happy Weekend to all
