Month Three...

The main goal with me is to control my sugar reading levels which were out of sight a couple of months ago. I can honestly say the readings are now in control. Oh, don't get me wrong, if I eat something I shouldn't my sugar level goes sky high!!! So, I try not to do that. But, lets face it - we are prone to eat a pastry or a burger just because we long for it. Carbs, carbs, carbs and that is a killer for someone who is watching their carbs intake amounts. Carbs turn to sugar and sugar is a bad thing for a Diabetic. I am still eating with one carb on my plate instead of two or three like I was doing before. I fill up with veggies or a salad and this works for me most of the time. For a snack I will eat Sugar Free Jello with Cool Whip which satisfies my sugar cravings. But listen, this is no easy chore as I have been a Diabetic for 18 years. I should have this down pat and know how to be in control but, it doesn't work that way for some people. Others can control what they put into their mouths and they are slim and trim and always in control. Not me and I am sure not many, many others fighting this Diabetic battle. I am not having a weight loss - only down 5 lbs because my calories are still too high - that is Ok because I am down 15 lbs from last year. America is a good country, but she is making us Americans fat to say the least with all the 'delicious' junk food offered. I love McDonald's, NY Pizza and all the other fast foods you can think of - so, it is a constant battle to keep my mouth shut to those items, but you know what??? We can over come with some strict mind changing discipline. I can do it, what about you???

and, so it goes on my side of town...

Thanks for the visit Morticia - yes, many people feel as we do - it is a struggle, but learning portion control I think, is the key...Happy day to you...

I can totally relate. There are way too many things to tempt me and thin crust pizza is at the top of my list. Like you, I can't give up foods I love forever so I try to use portion control and eat them less. I do love healthy foods but I also love the other stuff too. It's a struggle.
