How Can I Be Kind to Me Today?

Not many of us would debate the importance of being kind to others. We know it’s a better world and a better day when we are. But how often do we ask ourselves, “How can I be kind to me today?”
When I ask myself that question honestly I find the answer that comes is usually something small and doable. Here are some of my ‘answers’ from this week:
I can sit down and call my friend Karen for a good talk.
I can drink water because I always feel a little more balanced and energetic when I am well hydrated.
I can stop and spend 30 minutes just starting that work project I am avoiding.
I can take the time to stretch now (after a workout).
I can take a few deep breaths while I sit at this intersection (waiting for the longest light in the city to turn green…) and just feel the oxygen flow through me.
