Working through the pain

Thursday, April 30, 2015

I am about to be 8 months out from my knee replacement surgery----and I am still in pain. I went back to the doctor and he said there was nothing in the X-rays and that I just needed to work on getting my muscles stronger. I am hoping that I am doing the correct exercises to do that now, I'm working out my 3 days a week at the Wellness Center. I hope that I am doing them correctly as well. But, I am still in pain. I still have inflammation in my knee area, you can tell because it feels very warm when you touch your knee. I have tried medication for the inflammation, didn't work, I ice my knee when it hurts, doesn't help all that much, I'm still hanging in there though. I know that I have to keep trying. The doctor also said that it could take a year to heal, I understand that, I just didn't think that I was going to be in pain for all of that year! It is, of course, no where near the pain that I had right after the surgery but there are times when I have trouble walking because of the pain. I guess that all I can do at this stage is keep on keeping on!

Time for a new doctor... too lazy to make the effort to end your pain, so blaming it on you. Shame on him!!

First person I ever heard that had any pain after a week post-op!
