Injuries, YAY advice and prayers appreciated

Thursday, April 23, 2015

So, i mnaged to fall down the stairs 3 times in one day, so pretty banged up with some severe injuries, have a concussion (still have a headache), which happened the first ftime i fell, which is probably the main reason i fell two more times, but i didn't have any nausea/vomitting, blurred vision etc, just a headache, which you would assume would happen when you fall from the 4th step down and twist you ankle real bad and land on you face, on a concrete floor (with carpet on it but NO padding underneath) ..i have walking boots on both feet (that is a new dimension in trying to stay balanced .. hahaha,) splint on Left arm, the concussion of course may may have something to do with the other two falls due to balance issues, heehee) injured both knees, L/is worse, bruised and swollen pretty darn good... my back hurts, and, well, let's just say i hurt ALL OVER ...but i do hope to stay on track with the diet/some fitness! walking around in these heavy walking boots may help me burn some calories .. LOL (and i am using a walking stick i got from Relay for Life last year that seems to be just the right height and helps me to balance) .. so, i am NOT going to lose the ground i made, i am moving forward and keeping on it !! won't do so much as to not to heal, but i will keep moveing forward and finding something to do for exercise/fitness to not lose the ground i have made ..this will be a longgggggggggggg process i think .. ahahahahah any advice on some ideas for some fitness with these boots and a splint would be appreciated .. i know some of you must have some idea ... my feet won't fit in my exercise bike straps ... LOL

I'm sorry to hear that you were hurt! However, that is the beauty of our bodies, we get to heal! I've been attending to an injured dog. He is pretty scared right now after going through emergency surgery and several vet visits. He got under my bed last night and I didn't have his cone on his head so he would not pick at his staples. Well, being the anxious dog he is, he bit up my hand. My right pointer finger is pretty beat up. It's a good thing I love that dog!! Anyway, I got him out from under the bed and put the cone back on. This morning he was super sweet to me! So I too am moving forward to help a sick dog heal and let my hand become less swollen. He is under 6lbs but he has quite the bite!

Oh Dear, emoticon , how awful to have to go through the falling and now the healing! I was going to suggest the chair exercises but I see someone already did. My only other advice would be to focus on the arms for a while, you certainly do not want to fall again.

Wow, as if the concussion wasn't bad enough you decided to bang yourself up 2 more times after that.

My suggestion is to do some chair exercises. There are several here on SP and there are many on YouTube as well. I did chair exercises when I broke my leg several years ago because like you, I didn't want to lose any ground that I had gained. They really can give you a good workout. Good luck and hope you heal quickly!

Oh, my goodness!! Glad you aren't worse than you are! Hope the healing process will be swift! Check out the exercise videos under Articles and Videos at the top and see if you can find something easy to do while you heal up. They have chair exercises that might be helpful. Take care!!!
