The cat that wasn't

A week and a half ago I found out about a Maine Coon cat in an animal shelter about 20 miles away. Since my Maine Coon cat, Mulligan, died last fall I've been thinking I need another Maine Coon cat. They have wonderful personalities and are more interactive than your average cat. I had my first Maine Coon, Finn, for 18-1/2 years and Mulligan for 11-1/2 years, so I've had lots of experience with them among my other cats. I finally got to the shelter early Saturday afternoon, only to be told the cat was in the process of being adopted right then. I met his brother, a gorgeous cat, but they are a year old and have never been truly socialized with humans. I'm not home enough to provide the right environment for a cat like that, so no new kitty. Also took up a lot of the daylight hours Saturday.
However - I did list with a web site for pet adoption and said i want a male Maine Coon kitten. Kitten season is just starting, so there is a high probability I will get an email about a kitten within the next two months. Much better solution for me and my other pets.
I'm moving a little slow this evening, largely because I donated blood at a blood bank this afternoon. I was told not to do any heavy exercise for the rest of the day after that and I'm feeling pretty tired, so I won't get in my 120 minutes today. Wish we could carry over minutes from yesterday.
