Variety is overrated...

I was talking to a good friend the other day about our goals and food plans. When I told her that I have the same thing for breakfast every morning she said, "But don't you get bored?"
I love my breakfast.
Old fashioned oatmeal (yes... cooked the old fashioned way... In a pot on the stove) with unsweetened almond milk, cocoa powder, cinnamon, and two egg whites mixed in for and extra protein punch!
It is so filling and gives me so much energy.
I feel good about feeding my body well first thing every morning.
.... and it's not boring.
You know what boring is?
Boring is seeing the same numbers on the scale every day, and the same measurements on the tape.
Boring is staying with a bad pattern that just isn't working.
Boring is being consistently disappointed with oneself for continuing to make the same "mistakes" over and over again.
Doing what works?
No. Not boring.
I'm sticking with my oatmeal.
