An absolutely awful week, and how it's getting better

Saturday, April 11, 2015

Afternoon, SparkWorld!

Some of you might know, but a week ago today I was dealt a really crumby card - my partner of over two years decided to end things. Skip to the next happier emoticon if you don't want to read details!

To say I was blindsided would have been understating it immensely. We had the kind of relationship that everyone we knew envied, with love and compassion and without fighting or anything beyond minor disagreements. For reasons beyond his control, I don't think he could see things for what they are anymore. And he decided to bow out.

The wallowing period is over, my couch and Crying Cave were my home for four days but these last three have been getting better. I still have really hard time eating, I just feel nauseated or even outright throw up. I've been going to the gym a lot, and the scale has gone down quite a bit, though I'm not trusting it to stay there once I get my food back on track. Starting with just simple proteins, lots of veggies and some dairy and grain.

ON A POSITIVE NOTE

My Winnipeg Jets are in the playoffs!! I just can't WAIT, I will have to get to at least one game.

I also wanted to say a huuuuuge thank you
emoticon
to my Champions in the Kitchen teammates for checking up on me. I haven't had the ability to go back and thank you all individually but it meant a lot to know that someone cared. I know things won't be magically better now, but things are moving up.

I'm very late reading this. So sorry to hear about your break up. How are you doing now, a couple months later?

I am so happy emoticon to see your blog and that you are moving on one day at a time. It will get easier but the timeline is yours alone ... just know that we are here to vent to emoticon

Breakups suck. I'm glad you have been posting more recently in the Iron Workers forum. Good on you for using your workouts as a way to motivate yourself out of the post-breakup hole. Let me know if you need to vent or want some extra encouragement.

    PS: YOU'RE AWESOME!!

I'm so sorry this is something you've had to endure. You will get through this just taking it one day (or even one hour) at a time with the help of your friends here and in "real" life. Pick one thing to concentrate on right now....sounds like you've picked exercise, and that's a really healthy thing!!! Don't force your appetite, sadly the appetite seems to be the first thing to come back, and if you're spending time at the gym working out you'll be hungry soon enough. Then you can concentrate on tracking and measuring and before you know it another week and a new challenge will be here demanding your focus. Sending you healing hugs!!! emoticon

Sorry to hear that. Break ups are tough, especially when you didn't see it coming. emoticon It sounds like you are bouncing back well. Hope you continue to feel better.

You have gone through a HUGE rough spot, but you are coming out on top! You are a Health Star! emoticon

Regarding your thanks to the team - that's why I invited you to join. Isn't this the greatest group of people? (It's rhetorical. You don't have to answer.) emoticon

I'm sorry to hear that, but I am a firm believer in everything happens for a reason (even though we may not be able to understand the reason why). Kudos to you for handling it the way that you are. Going to the gym is a great way to take your mind off of everyday life and focus on yourself. Keep your head up!

So sorry to hear about this. Give yourself the time and space you need to heal. The more healthy positive things you can do for yourself the better like going to the gym, which you're doing and getting that healthy food back in you which you are also doing. All the best champion!
