Azure WEC - My favorite type of cardio and what it has done for me

When I look back at my exercise when I first started with SP, I realize how far I have come and how much more fun I am having. Before joining Azure, my exercise of choice was walking. I would head out each morning for a long, solitary walk, typically going 4-5 miles at a pretty good pace. It worked for me, and I enjoyed listening to beautiful and/or fun music along the way.
Azure challenges encouraged me to add varied types of exercises to my regime. I now do water aerobics 2-3 times a week, yoga 2 times a week in a class setting, ST or TnT 3 times a week, ride my stationary bike 2-4 hours a week, walk occasionally (though I am finding it is irritating my knee at the moment), and I have just started a spinning class.
I have found my favorite cardio is in a classroom setting and listening to fun music. Who knew? It started with water aerobics two years ago when Azure challenged us to try a new exercise. I went MWF for an hour each day, had three different teachers who each brought something different to the table but each was fun, and made so many new friends. As much as I enjoyed walking, I love water aerobics. It's one of the places where I am my happiest. It has improved my movement and cardiovascular health, and improved my happiness (mental health) tremendously. I like that it is low impact as I tend to get injuries to my ankles and more recently my knee when I start to push my exercise. That hasn't happened here. We also do a lot of work with weights in our class, and I can see the difference in the tone of my body.
After a year of this class, Azure had another challenge that encouraged me to try the yoga class. I am also loving that, and it pairs very well with water aerobics. Recently, we lost our good Friday water aerobics teacher and the new one isn't pushing us enough. I had already been thinking about trying spinning in place of one of the water aerobic classes but this change encouraged me to do it, along with my good friend from water aerobics. I like the class because the teacher is very good, we do HIIT which is fun and I know how good it is for me, and I get a sweat up! I think at this stage it will be a great addition to my routine as it will help me slim down and tone up, really get my heart racing, is a new fun challenge, will be a good abdominal workout, and is also easy on my knee while getting a good workout.
I'm excited to see where I am over the next few months.
