I have decided and "One Things" Day one (again)

Some confessions. I haven't been to the gym since I blogged about it back in January. It was great, but I'm still not a morning person. Until today anyway. I made it back today. It wasn't nearly as much fun as that last trip, but was much more realistic. I also confess that I've allowed myself to be in a funk for the last several months. I've been allowing my circumstances to determine my mood and my outlook. I know that's not productive, and usually I'm pretty good about staying out from underneath there, but lately I haven't done so well. I was listening to a webinar yesterday when I was reminded that nothing happens until we decide to do it. We can hope, wish, plan, dream...but until we decide, nothing happens.

Which brings me to "One Things". That's not a grammar error. I have decided that, each day, I will do one concrete, measurable thing that moves my life forward in each area where I'm dissatisfied. I won't bore anyone with all the details, but I'll share this one about fitness. Today, it was a trip to the gym. I got to bed at a decent hour, even though it was very difficult to fall asleep. I had a good workout, even if it was brief. I had a bonus result (not a goal, since I didn't actually set it as one), I walked 10,459 steps today, topping 10,000 for the first time in months. Yay me!

So, I've reset my streak counters once again. Got the gym bag packed. Now I'm off to bed because it's REALLY late and the gym comes really early.
