Is Sparkpeople for me...

I feel guilty for even asking this question...
Is sparkpeople for me?
I was honored by becoming a sparkmotivator, I lost an incredible amount of weight through the motivation and support I received from Spark people and this wonderful community. Ive met 2 real life friends, one who is a bestie! I cannot describe the amount of inspiration the san antonio team fed me! But here I am a few years later and feeling less motivated. I come and go but I cannot seem to recommit. Its an odd feeling. I just cannot seem to reignite my spark for spark people. I feel guilty for looking at other communities like fitocracy and bodybuilding.
I am laying the foundation for a restart, I am 4 weeks postpartum, I am ready. I want to commit to whichever community, apps, calculators. I dont want to spread myself thin by commiting to all 3 sites. That wont give me enough time to actually work out and food prep lol. As of right now I am thinking a new site for a new start, new motivation. BUT keeping sparkpeople updated with my journey. Does that make me a bad representative of spark people? I dont know.

I, myself, have founf it difficult to find new motivation with an old site... I'm trying yet again but if I fall off again, Im just going to have to look elsewhere... I don't think the problem is with sparkpeople... just sometimes we need something new for that motivational spark...

Each of us finds where we fit, and what works for us. If another website fits your needs for now, try it out. You might find it works better for you, you might not. You might come back to Spark.

So, whatever works. Many of us like this site, but that doesn't make it perfect for everyone.

    Good luck!

    (And congrats on the baby!)

Listen, Siena, this is a very personal journey and you have to chart the course for yourself in a way that makes sense to you. My greatest wish for you is happiness and health - how you arrive there is immaterial. Think of it like going on a vacation - it doesn't matter if you fly, drive, take a train, whatever - the most important thing is that you find a way to reach your destination so you can enjoy it.

Also: once a San Antonio sparker - always a San Antonio sparker!!! Even if you use a different app or website to track or get support, you always have a home here. I hope that you will pop in to give us updates, show off pictures of your gorgeous kiddos, and let us know how you are doing. You are such a beautiful person inside and out and I am so happy to hear that you and your family are doing well.

. I'm so glad to see you! Congrats on your new baby. I just saw your previous blog. She's absolutely gorgeous. As to the question if Sparkpeople is for you? Well, only you can tell. I'm on a break or hiatus from leadership of the SA team for now, and am pretty lax in my participation except for challenges. It's what I need right now. What does Siena need? My guess is you need to explore a few other possibilities and keep your toes dipped in the water here in case you want to jump back in...but I'm prejudiced about Spark, you know. Just don't disappear completely when I've just seen you here again!

No you're not 'bad' because you want more than you feel that SP can give you. I applaud the fact that you recognize what you need and don't feel compelled to stay with something that doesn't fit. I wish you the matter your choice. emoticon
