Spark support is awesome for 4-legged critters as well as people! : )
As Tony the Tiger would say, Olive has been doing 'Grrrrrrrrreat!'. These past two weeks we have seen great progress with her mobility. Yes! (Arms up in the air, waving like I just don't care baby!).
I had an unplanned trip to the Emergency Room last Monday and ended up being stuck in The Joint for some hospital hard time. That meant that Olive needed to be boarded at the animal hospital since she's still recovering from her surgery. She was happy to go though, since she made many new human friends with the staff (funny dog!). She also saw her neurologist while there for a post op check up.
Olive's hind legs are starting to respond to her Frenchie commands, and she's got this cute swagger going when she tries to walk. It's sort of a shimmy shimmy waddle, but we are THRILLED to see it happen. She will need to wear dog shoes with rubber grippies on the bottom to help with stability for a while. I ordered her some puppy Mary Janes. OH CUTE!
The news gets even better!
Olive's neurologist thinks that she will have about 90% of her mobility back, and might even gain full use of her hind legs in the future! Woweeeee!
Super duper encouraging news to hear.
For now Olive needs to keep her shimmy shimmy to a minimum. No running, jumping, playing or downward dog yoga stretches. You dog owners know what I'm talking about. Puppy yoga is a real thing! Mary Janes must be worn daily, and she still needs the help of her rehab sling. She's got a long way to go, but she's going baby. She's going!
And she's still so dang cute...
