March 13 - Rough week...

Friday, March 13, 2015

My dear 89 year old mother who is an amputee fell and broke her only remaining ankle. We spent this week with her in the hospital after the doctor installed an external fixater. She will spend time in a skilled nursing facility until the swelling goes down and she can have another surgery on the ankle. Then more time in a rehab. The doctor promised he would have Mother home and walking by December when she will turn 90.

The upside is there was a very appropriate quote in the BSF bible study this week
"It is good and right to pray for healing when you or others are ill. However, God does not always choose to heal. Therefore, pray also for God's grace to die well, trusting Him fully, with hope firmly set on a future with Him that will never end."

Another friend sent this scripture - Psalm 34:7 "The angel of the Lord encamped around those who fear Him and rescues them." And who determines how the rescue will unfold but God. To Him be the Glory forever and ever.

What a blessing faith is! Lean into the Lord, and He will give you strength.
