good morning! today is probably going to be a lovely day--the highest temp forecast for the week and lots of sun. yesterday was so foggy in the morning, but it cleared and turned into a very nice sunny day. got to the park and did my podrunner--I am to the point now where I feel like I am ready for our first 5K, which will be at the end of this month.
went to the cemetery to visit mom and dad, tidied up the area there; came home and got
started on another slate and even did a little outside work. we are moving a large group of mock orange bushes and I wanted to lopper them back before we dig them so they will be easier to manage. got 4 of them cut back--boy did my shoulders feel that work this morning! so I need to go out each day and do SOMETHING to ease my body back into the workload.
then last night rob arrived home early, and called a nearby town to see if the Kubota dealer had the tractor we were considering in stock--he wanted to see one. he is very much like that--wants to see something in the flesh before he decides whether or not to buy. they actually had five (!!!) in stock that had just arrived earlier today. so we went and kicked the tires and talked to dan at that store (another very nice salesman) and decided to make the purchase. he is going to call rob back later today with all his figures pulled together. then we made some measurements and while we were out on the lot doing that, even though they had closed, dan came out with a key and let rob start it up and drive it around. showed us some basics on how to use the backhoe, let me climb aboard to see if it was a comfortable "fit" for me too. so we got the tractor, a three point hitch and quick connect for the front implements, and a tiller. so we now have a loader, a back hoe and a tiller. I am so excited about how much easier all the work we have ahead of us is going to be now. we also talked about a chipper--and they had one there that was just about exactly what we are looking for. its a truly wonderful gift from my parents--not only in the sheer utility and helpfulness of the item, but in the real excitement and joy it will bring to rob.
more yard work today, painting and laundry. have a great Thursday!
