A brief list of Blessings

Tuesday, March 10, 2015

I've continued going to the Silver Sneakers class, just because it is at the right time on the right day to go with my current work schedule. I didn't make it to the Zumba class that week, but went the next week, at the wrong time! So I just did my own cardio workout for an hour and went home. I plan to make it to Zumba this week, and do some sweating!

I wanted to write some about my blessings. I have so much to thank God for in my life. Here's a brief list:

My husband--a good partner for over 30 years, still finding kind things to do for me
My family--parents, siblings, children, in-laws, grandchildren, and more
My home--not perfect, but room for trees and a garden, and places for kids to come visit
My job--also not perfect, but plenty challenging even after 9.5 years. My biggest cause of stress, but also rewarding on a daily basis
My church membership--I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a Mormon. I have been an active member my whole life. I love the teachings of the gospel, the support of the members, and the inspiration I can receive daily.
Technology--a mixed blessing, to be sure. It can take over my life. But it also keeps me in touch with my family and friends that are far away.
My body--even at 55 years old, I can do so much, and even hard things. I know I have to treat it right if I want to keep healthy.

I said it would be brief, so I better stop there. I could go on quite a bit more, and certainly write whole paragraphs about each of these blessings. I am glad to take some time to record them.

You do have blessings and one of them is the ability and willingness to honor them - count them - and be thankful for them.

You left a smile on my face today. Thank you.
