Wow, I didn't realize it'd been over a week since I blogged! Time sure does fly... especially when you are completely off track and don't want to admit it. What have I been up to...?
Well, we finished our race on the 1st! The Hot Chocolate 15k. Toughest race we do, but also the coolest swag bag!
Other than that... I have been totally off track. Well, not completely. My thoughts have been on track, my actions have not. After the race I knew I'd need a day or 2 to recover. But here I am a week later and I have only logged one walk. I also saw our race pictures at the end of last week. What a wake up call. Seriously - is THAT what I look like? I must have a fun-house mirror that makes me look thinner than I am!
So, what am I doing to get back on track? I hit the grocery store on Friday to prepare for this week. Green smoothie ingredients and food for bulk cooking and freezing. Since I eat 3 breakfasts, 4 lunches, and 3 dinners at work every week I need the healthy food to bring with me. Relying on leftovers from dinner doesn't always work so I needed to figure something else out. As of today, I will have shredded slow cooker salsa chicken, black beans, and Mexican brown rice, all cooked up and frozen in separate baggies so that I can mix and match to make lunches and dinners at work. I can do tacos, burritos, chicken and rice bowls, etc... Since the chicken is SO TASTY, it makes me excited for all of these meals.
I just finished drinking a green smoothie. Since quitting smoking my taste buds have changed, so it'll take some work getting used to the smoothies again. I am going to make freezer bags tonight so that it is quicker to make the smoothies in the morning. No excuses any more.
We do have 2 dinners out this week, Friday night and Saturday night. Friday isn't unhealthy, but the portions are crazy. I'll try to keep that in check. Saturday we are going to a very nice steak house after a Cirque de Soleil show with some friends. Luckily, both of these nights out are paid for by our friends!! I will work on making good choices and keeping portions down. Otherwise, I am going to stay perfectly on track this week with my eating.
Tomorrow I am going to try to make it to a "warm yoga" class after work. In fact, I'll work another hour so that I don't have to drive home just to turn around and come back. It is more of just a stretching class and I hope it'll ease the tightness I still have in my calves. I will then run on Tuesday, walk the dog Wednesday morning before work, maybe get some treadmill time in on Thursday and a long run on Friday. My ST will be what I aimed to do last month, KB swings and burpees. My aim is to do the ST nightly.
So. There is my plan. Keep me to it! :)
