New Discipline at Work

Friday, March 06, 2015

I weigh myself on Wed. and Sunday. Yesterday's weight was at the "high end" of the three pounds I've been tossing around. So that's my starting point (from here on in,....I'm not replacing my initial weight).. i want to climb over this incline and leap from the plateau at the top. Three pounds. make it 4 and I will have put off another ten pounds and will have kicked that plateau's butt. LOL

Yesterday and today I've done well. I had made out a week's menu for all three meals for me and a dinner option for my family. ...and somehow I didn't save it...and my computer didn't retrieve it. It's GONE. Shoot. i will make another one today. It's much easier to be relieved from the pressure of deciding last minute once you're already hungry, what to eat.

I know Spark offers pre-made menu plans...but their diet is much more lenient than mine is. I know that if you exercise, weight loss is possible on Spark's diet....I once lost 70 lbs that way. However since that time five years ago, i've gotten much sicker and exercise is almost completely impossible. So that leaves me turning to a diet which will not only make me thin but will make me healthy. It may not heal everything but it can heal my hypertension (HIgh blood pressure) for which I am taking five pills a day. And he (Fuhrman) claims that he's had success also with treating Auto Immune diseases such as RA and Lupus. He admits that those who are far advanced in the diisease probably won't have as much of a positive outcome....but maybe it will lower my inflammation rate and thus, my pain. Sounds logical.

So I'm off to re-make my menu for the rest of the week....I will be interested to see the results on Sunday's weigh in.

Yes, saw the TED talk where Fuhrman gave examples of people cured of their diseases. It just makes sense that putting good nutrition into your body will help boost its ability to fight disease, give you more energy and ward off sickness. We are too far gone to be cured, but an easing of some of the onslaught would be nice. I know I never get sick with colds and flu, etc., and I attribute that to all the raw fruits and veggies I eat and the virtual elimination of processed (no grains, everything must be in its original state) no meat, except what I have at my Mom's. Fortunately, she is not crazy about it and does have lentils, beans, etc.
