February certainly flew by!
I'm heading into the last week of the 5% Winter Challenge. I've really enjoyed participating and expect to continue the new routines I've established. Accountability to my team was important and I am a tad concerned that I will slide back into some old habits so while I wait for the next Challenge, I'll be doing the Small Changes Challenge this month. I've learned firsthand how the little things add up. 2000 exercise minutes during the short month of February; all earned 10 or 15 minutes at a time. I went back and looked at my fitness minutes since I joined SP 5+ years ago and I've never achieved this many minutes in a month; having it be accomplished in a short month makes it so much sweeter!! (Oh, how I long for a sunny and non-windy day to be able to walk outside for more than 15 minutes; I know it's coming!)
My scale has been flirting with me over the last few days, enticing me with what's possible and what's coming. Up and down over the days and then when it really counted (weigh-in day) it went back to where it was a week ago Friday. I was down this morning so I'll keep my fingers crossed that Friday's final weigh-in is a success!
So what's my plan for March? Will I do another 2,000 minutes? I'm not sure yet but I think so. I'm expecting that the weather will warm up a bit and I'll be outside more; I was even looking at my bicycle yesterday and thinking that it won't be too much longer. For now though, snow is in the forecast for Tuesday and I'm actually hoping we get it even if that means I'll have to be creative with my exercise time. We need the precipitation here and I'd rather get it now than in April.
Today's Small Changes challenge was a simple one: Tell just one person about your goals. I'm telling all of you and I will keep you up to date on my accomplishments.
March On, Spring is coming!!
