Fifteen pounds in three months - I need help!

When I wrote my last blog entry, I thought "now, time for change!" -- did things change? No. Well, yes, they did, but for the worse. I had three amazing months in the fall but once I slipped, I kept on sliding.

The scale confirmed it for me today - I have gained fifteen pounds since the end of October.


I have decided to tackle it. I quit one of my jobs, so now I only have four positions on top of grad school, and two of them will be finishing next month. I have taped messages to myself around my house -- a workout schedule, a few circuits I can do if I'm watching TV, etc. I bought a ton of fresh fruit and veggies -- although man, are they expensive. $7 for three red peppers?? I might have to go to frozen veggies soon.

Anyway, the point of this blog.


If any of my spark friends are interested in emailing daily, or even texting (only Canada and US tho), please tell me!

If anyone has any amazing recipes I just have to try

or workouts that are amazing

or motivational pictures

-- please bombard me.


I really hate asking for help in any facet of my life but this is out of control and the idea that I could gain another fifteen before summer makes me want to just shut down.

    It happens to all of us at one point or another. Just get back on the horse so to speak, and don't think of it as all or nothing. Life does happen. There will be times you can't workout for whatever reason, but you can always make the next workout, meal, hour, minute, day better somehow. Just keep at it. Checking in on Spark People is a great way to stay motivated, accountable and to get encouragement. We're all in similar boats and are here to get and stay healthy. You are not alone. :-)

    I would love to text if you wanted to, I'm in Canada so it probably wouldn't cost either of us anything. I prefer that over messaging over this because at least I have my phone everywhere I go. If you're interested I can send you my number over message. :)

    First, you know what is going on now and want to stop it. Good for you!

    Some of my favorite things to do (workout wise) are these:

    21 Day Fix. This is a great 2 weeks workout program, it is a little pricey but you get several workouts with it, and it comes with a nutrition/portion control thing. I didn't use the things, but I did track here. I actually just started doing it again.

    Amazon has some AMAZING dvd's. I like 900 SPRI (I think that is what it is called, it is a collection of HIIT workouts) Amy Dixon has some HIIT tabata workouts.

    Les Mills Combat is another favorite if you like kickboxing type workouts. I love it. It has a lot of variety too.

    Honey I was in the EXACT SAME situation. I just in this past month have got myself back on track consistently! You can do this, you are setting yourself up for success! Great that you bought the food and put up the notes, pics and got back on spark. Here for you ANYTIME!!
