2015 Best Damn Race - Safety Harbor

Thursday, February 19, 2015

In 2013, a now very good friend & mentor, Nick, started a little race in Safety Harbor, created for runners by a runner. D & I did that Inaugural race. Today, Best Damn Race (BDR) has caught national attention as a must do race in Florida! It has now expanded to Jacksonville, Orlando, and Cape Coral!

Packet Pickup Day! I hung out with Stewie and checked out the Race Site residents!

The BDR Race Site was at Safety Harbor Marina, about 6 miles east from my Dunedin home! Sweet!

Lots of vendors & great race day deals!

Of course, my Sponsor, Outspokin Bicycles and Multisports Team represented!

My Outspokin Team Coach, Leo & My Team Captain, Karla, from Hope for the Warriors Tampa!

Saturday morning, Zero Dark Thirty at the 10K Starting Line

D in the 10K Corral ready to roar!

With my run club partner, Brad and teammate/running partner Jen, waiting to rock this 10K! Yeah, it was chilly according to Florida standards!

Jen and I had a great time on this, our third 10K together, and happy with the effort. I have no idea what that runner between us was doing!

The paparazzi had to catch us with our 10K Bling!

D crossing the Finish Line!

We headed to our team tent to regroup and chill!

Within minutes, I had to get to the 5K Starting Line to complete the BDR Challenge. This fitlife food crew actually stopped me for a photo op. I obliged as I embraced a have fun 'tude for the 5K!

Got to the 5K Corral where a few of my local friends decided to run as well!

Had a great Saturday morning 5K and sprinting to the finish, I nailed the Challenge!

BDR is one of our fave and best races of the year. I've done the 10K, Half Marathon, and, this year, the 10K/5K Challenge! It's definitely a permanent date on our race calendar! Safety Harbor is a lovely small run-friendly town with cheering people all over the run course! The Bling was sweet too!

Most importantly, run your race, have fun doing it, and get excited for your next race!
As always, thanks for taking the time to read & comment on this blog.
Much love...
