Signs of the Apocalypse...

Thursday, February 19, 2015

So tonight, I was perusing the internet and saw a snippet of SNL's 40th bash.

I saw Taylor Swift performing "Shake it Off" with...

Paul McCartney.

And she was super-stoked (who wouldn't be). And he looked happy.

I told the hubby, in my next life, I want to be Taylor Swift. He looked at me like I was crazy. The kid looked at me like I was crazy. But it must be f*cking nice, to have the frontman of the BEATLES playing your song, while you sing all star-struck to it.

This is the sign, I think. The world MUST be ending. That's the only reliable explanation for it.

I like Taylor Swift...I really do. But I spent a good portion of tonight walking around in a haze..

"It's PAUL MCCARTNEY"...

"Paul McCartney"

"McCartney!" I said.

My daughter just laughed and laughed.

But seriously...

It's Paul McCartney.

I love the Beatles, but someone needs to tell Sir Paul to stop singing in public. Seriously.

I didn't like Taylor when she was a country gal - but I love her 1989 album. Now I think she's awesome. If you come back as Taylor I'd like to come back as Miranda... think I'd enjoy being married to Blake for a bit :) As for Paul - yeah, he's pretty amazing. What can we say? I just love music. I love when the unexpected team up too. Remember "over and over again"... Tim McGraw and Nelly? I nearly died when that song came out :) Hmmm, maybe I should come back as Faith - Tim's quite the catch too... or maybe Nicole and be married to Keith! Oh, this is fun & probably not what you expected. Sorry. I'm getting carried away :)

Totally agree, Sparky! Paul McCartney's not supposed to be accessible to us mere mortals, singin' our songs or rocking out to "Shake it Off"!

Just to add my vote to this opinion poll--strangely I didn't like the Beatles all that much when I was young but really like listening to them now. Something really, really captivating about them. And moving.

I was never a Beatles Fan, but Paul McCartney is an icon.

Not a Taylor Swift fan either, but I think her switch from country to pop was a good move. Her country songs were very teen oriented and had less mass audience appeal.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm pretty much over Taylor Swift. *yawn*

Now an Nsync reunion on the other hand... emoticon

    He wants to be relevant.

Did you see him with Kanye and RiRi at the Grammy's?
