Didn't Do So Well Today :(

Hello SP Friends:
I ate far more Weight Watchers points in food than I was allowed today. I am NOT going to dwell on it! I am NOT going to beat myself up over it! I am going to put today behind me and move on! I do not need to worry about my point for today. The only thing I do need to think about and consider is ...

I feel like I was scared. I just started a new job and I was so hungry when I got home. I wanted to just eat and not care. I didn't want to count points/calories. I wanted to be "normal." I didn't want to be the "fat" lady. I wanted to throw caution to the wind and just eat and not care.

I was wrong. This was wrong thinking. I was feeling sorry for myself and I engaged in emotional eating. I need to figure out how NOT to do that any more. Any suggestions? I work 2pm to 7pm. I eat a Smart One breakfast OR egg beaters Southwest style...great on points! I eat lunch vegetable soup usually 0 points. For breaks at work I eat raw veggies and raw fruit which most of the time is 0 points. This saves points for supper after work which I usually have a Smart One.

The great thing is you are putting it behind you and planning how to move forward and try avoid it happening again. One day doesn't hurt too much as long as you get back on track. emoticon

I too struggle with emotional eating. Be kind to yourself! Love yourself!! do something nice for yourself.
Emotional eating is stress management - we are not taking care of ourselves, and turn to food. Is there something else nice you can do for yourself? It's ok to be scared and stressed, just take care of yourself in non-food ways. You can do it!!! emoticon

If you can, I would suggest that you make sure you eat some protein along with a carb so it makes you feel fuller longer. I suggest some crackers and cheese, van apple with peanut butter, English muffin with peanut butter/banana, whole wheat slice of bread with peanut butter, etc. You might want to try to plan ahead and make something in the slow cooker so you have something available when you get home and you're so hungry. I understand! Planning is the big key here. There are also some great recipes here on SP that you can make ahead and just warm up for breakfast. Also, don't let one day make you throw in the towel and stay on a spiral down. Plan and prepare for your meals the night before so there's no question as to what to take to your work. I did that all the time when I taught school. I just would grab my breakfast first thing in the morning & pack what I'd made for my lunch. It made it so much easier and healthier for me. emoticon
