It's my LIFE! Keeping on this journey...

Back in the late '70s early '80s I was in TOPS and eventually became the leader. I had lost some weight, regained, and lost. What I noticed was when I was leader many people in the group, if not all, lost weight. Me, however, not me! I didn't lose and I was lucky that I didn't regain even more. I found that being leader along with all of my other responsibilities of raising five active children and being involved with all of their activities as well as my own was overwhelming. I was cheating myself from the amount of attention I needed from me. I put myself on the back burner too often and came up short.
I left TOPS to find something else and wandered through some other attempts to lose weight, but until I found SparkPeople nothing worked for me. Life gave me trials and tribulations, physically and mentally. I was directed to SparkPeople and I stayed with it even though it took me a couple of years to understand the program. I was starting from scratch, building my self esteem first and testing the waters. The support here has helped me immensely. Eventually I GOT the one step back, two steps forward mentality and began moving in the right direction. I joined teams, and for me the Chair Exercise team was what I needed to get back into the world of exercise.
No journey is an easy one. There are fits and starts, starts and restarts. The only way to complete a journey is to continue onward. Where do you go if you give up? Eventually one must soldier on to complete a mission. Trials and tribulations continue. My knees are better, but I will eventually still need a knee replacement or two... My cataracts are removed, and I am adjusting to seeing LIFE and all that's in it in a new way. I stumbled a couple of times in the past couple of months with sight problems and with being able to walk without pain. The daily sparkers and team leaders have always been here cheering me on. I love Spark People - all of you real people out there in my virtual world here online!
Never give up! I had to rest my eyes for healing and cut back on how much time I spent on the computer. I had to slow down and couldn't participate fully in all of my teams. I thank SparkPeople for the help that I received building and maintaining my self-confidence. Without their help I don't think I would still be keeping on, and KEEPING ON THIS JOURNEY is important to me. It's my LIFE!
