What a great weekend

I grew up in the North, and sometimes I miss it a lot. But not when they are still covered in snow and we are hitting Spring here in the South. I do wish I lived a little more in the middle where we get some snow but not as much as we did when I lived in New York.
So I was able to start prepping my garden for spring planting. I got all three cleaned out and fed. Then I shredded some leaves and covered them again as I have a few more weeks before I can start planting. I have a few things starting under the grow lights inside.
It felt good to get out and work in the yard, but boy am I feeling it. Mostly from the raking. So Sunday I took it easy and did some inside work and grocery shopping.
I did have a chocolate craving and decided to make cookies. So my son and I sat down with a cookbook designed for kids to pick out what we were going to make. And my wonderful son declared he wanted to make frozen fruit kabobs. So cookies were out and fruit was in. He got bored making them but loved eating them for dessert later. I love that kid and am proud that he wanted fruit over cookies.
I still wanted the cookies but didn't risk making a batch because I might have eaten them all myself. I'll stick with the frozen fruit too.
