It has been a rough winter...

It has been a rough winter for me so far. I've had nothing but trouble with my health, my car, my phone, my computer, and more. I'm looking for the light at the end of the tunnel and hoping it comes soon.

Much of my health issues have been aggravated by losing my doctor last spring and ending up with one who seems to have no compassion at all. She has taken away medications that helped my problems and replaced them with ones that did little to no good. She blames all of my problems on my weight and although I know that my weight contributes to the other issues, some of the other problems were contributing factors to the weight gain. She doesn't seem to understand that taking away pain medications will not help me lose weight because it will make me even less mobile than I am right now.

On a more positive note, I got a letter a few days ago saying that she will now be leaving the practice, so now I am back to searching for a new doctor. Hopefully I will find one who is more caring and understanding than her...

    I have finally found a new doctor who has given back my pain meds, sent me for x-rays, and renewed my physical therapy. I have just started seeing him, but so far I think he is going to be great for me. He understands that I don't want to live on pain medication but that I need it in order to get through the day. Maybe some day I won't have to rely on it, but right now it is the only thing getting me through.

    Oh, wow! I am so sorry that you had to go to that doctor. Some doctors are like that. They refuse to treat anyone in pain, or they make you go without pain medicine. It sounds like that's what she's like. I went to someone a while back that wouldn't listen to me when I said I was in a lot of pain. And I wasn't asking for medicine at that point, I was only asking to see a physical therapist and to have an MRI done on my hip. But she totally refused, and just let me have acupuncture. That's interesting, and I went once, but it didn't improve the mobility of my hip or decrease the pain at all.
