Dam thyroid

I have always said that it is equipment failure that causes us difficulty as we grow older. The brain is often still telling us that we are 30 or 40 or whatever age we fancy we feel like. And then one day you sneeze and put your back out or you don't have the endurance you think you should have or your bloodwork comes back saying you are severely hypothyroid. I do believe that we should be retired from the age of 20-40 and then go to work. Enjoy life while your body is likely to comply!
For the last 10 months I have been slowly regaining the weight I had lost. I was very cold all the time and took to wearing a hat in the house. My already thinning hair had decided to continue the process at a much more rapid rate. And the most difficult one of all has been the desire for sweets and unmanageable cravings.
So today I had a meeting with my nutritionist. She had been studying my recent bloodwork and told me that I was .08 away from the diagnosis level for hypothyroid! And I am on medication for said condition! She was concerned because low thyroid is also a condition linked to breast cancer. She said that it didn't matter what I did I wasn't going to lose weight.
So my meal plan is for two weeks. She designed it to be anti-inflammatory as well as reducing the acid production in my stomach. This is designed to help with the inflammation from the bronchitis and to balance out the hormones. She wants my thyroid levels to drop from 4.92 to 1.5-2.5. It should take about 6 weeks. She said then I will start to lose abdominal fat. She wants me down to 160 by summer. Sounds good to me.
Now all I have to do is to breath without coughing! LOL
