Super Bowl Snack Madness

Sunday, February 01, 2015

Yesterday on Facebook I saw a post by an old classmate asking what everyone's "snack menu" was for the Super Bowl. WOW! it was amazing how much food some folks were preparing; they were providing a feast for their fellow watchers rather than a snack or two. My thoughts were all over the place; wishing I could chow down like that, thinking how much we focus on food in our society, and then of those who don't even know where their next meal will come from. Dear God forgive me for whining to myself because "I only get so many points on this meal plan" and instead make me more aware of giving to others. I've got to get beyond "losing weight"; it's a goal, but what for and then what?!

losing the weight is an added benefit-the key reason we're trying to do this is to feel/look better & live a longer, healthier life...if you've got kids or grandkids, we want to keep up with them...if we're nearing retirement, we don't want to just sit and rock and watch the world go by after we've worked so hard all our lives...but sometimes, we just can't put a finger on why or for what-here's hoping you thinking out loud reminds you & others of why we're not gorging on Super Bowl food, but rather enjoying the moment for what it is....sure would be easier, though, if there weren't so darn many FOOD commercials!!! emoticon emoticon
