With my first Half Marathon completed in Dec 2014 my new goal is to complete my first Full Marathon. Training begins tomorrow! Unfortunately, I am fighting a cold. UGH!
This vicious cycle of Love-Hate food relationship I have has left me at my heaviest in a very long time. I recently read a really good blog by a woman who inspired me by her journey. It wasn't your typical "121 things to do to lose weight". It was her REAL everyday struggle, the emotional struggle, the different programs she tried and how she has finally settled into what works for her. She admitted she has a food addiction which is what I have finally had to come to grips with. Just dieting and exercise is not getting me to my goal, I keep addressing the same weight gain - extreme loss - gain again. There was a statement made by someone she quoted "No bites are easier to take than one bite". I can not believe how profound that little statement was...over the last three days it has gotten me through many a temptation. As a matter of fact twice tonight it came to mind while I strolled through the kitchen with a desire to just nibble on something.
Everyone has to find their own way and what works best for them. I PROMISE what works for you is not necessarily going to work for me! The lady who has the blog I liked chose a 3-0-1 plan meaning 3 meals a day - 0 snacking in between - 1 day at a time. These last few days I have tried it and it's working for me...so far. There is so much information stating you should have so many little meals throughout the day if you want to lose weight effectively. That may be true - believe me I have tried them ALL! But for now, this is working. When it stops working I will change it.
Tomorrow you will find me on my first day of training for my first full marathon 26.2 miles by running 3 miles.
