January 2015 - Hodge Podge & Reflection

Saturday, January 31, 2015

Not trying to write anything "pretty." Just wanted to jot down how my January went so I can look back. (Sorta like a diary, I guess.)

I started keeping a small journal (red) again for this year. (Last year's was a lime green; I did really good at keeping it current for at least half the year!)

Since this is going to be the year that I turn 60, I wanted to use this year to have more of a focus on getting in better shape so that when I TURN 60 in November, I would feel better about myself.

Anyway, just to recap where/what/how:
= Wintering in Ruskin, FL (all of Jan/Feb)
= Participating in the RV Enthusiast Team 6-wk challenge (1/3-2/14)
(I'm on the Drill Sergeants team!)
= Trying to stay vigilant about taking the remainder of my Vitamin Code vitamins... which is hard since I feel NOTHING; no extra energy or anything.
= Trying to keep a "de-clutter" mindset.
= Wanted to continue studying my ACE Senior Fitness Specialty Certification materials, but... ha/ha/ha ...regretfully, that hasn't been happening.
= Wanted to focus more on prepping for emergency food. Basically, I've only bought a big bag of beans and rice--but I still want to buy water purification tablets.
= Began attending a twice-a-week FREE yoga class. Am loving it!
= Stumbled across some Big Band Swing CDs at a thrift store and have been playing, playing, playing those! Love it!
= Decided to change my RV decor to a beach theme; so... have been having some fun shopping for items while phasing out a bit of all my orange decor.
= Decorated "my" palm tree in my RV yard; it's quite colorful! Then today I bought the stakes I needed for my colorful bottle tree collection--so I do have quite the colorful yard in this resort!
= Ended up with 954 fitness minutes for January... despite the fact that I had some ongoing serious muscle/neck/upper back pain for nearly two weeks.

February is such a short month: I want to do even better!
