Feeling a little animosity...from people I considered to be on my team!!

Friday, January 30, 2015

It is times like these when I am so thankful that I became a part of the SparkPeople community. I know I can always come on here and find genuine support when it comes to living this healthy lifestyle! Now I will vent, I have a relative that is on the same boat as most of us trying to lose weight, live healthier and what not, well in the begging everything was great she would reach out to me for support. Ask me for recipes, tips, workout suggestions and whatever else. I am obviously not an expert or anything but I have been practicing this lifestyle for a while now and if people reach out to me with a question I am always willing to help them and share my experiences with them. Most importantly I tell them what works for ME and what hasn't for that matter. Don't get me wrong I am NOT going around trying to convince or convert anybody to anything! I am not the healthy lifestyle avon lady so to speak. Well all was fine and dandy up until a week or two ago she has become distant and somewhat hostile towards me. It is almost like my NSV's bother her when before she was supportive and encouraging. But alas, to each his own right? I just find it hurtful, it is not my fault she is not seeing the results she wants. This takes time I have been WORKING at it for a REALLY long time and although I tell myself not to let her rain on my parade I can't help but feel bad about it. Anyway, I am done venting now and just want YOU to know I am thankful for my Sparkfriends and the genuine support I find on here!! Happy Friday!

Have an awesome SuperBowl weekend!! emoticon

That is a difficult thing to deal with. I think you are dealing with it appropriately. You have to know that it has everything to do with her and nothing to do with you. Sometimes it is hard seeing someone have so much success when you feel like you've been putting so much in... but we all know that sometimes you don't get out what you put in right off the bat. Sometimes our bodies are slow to catch up with all of our hard work. She will realize this sooner or later... until then, all you can do is be there when she's ready!

Is she on a backslide and not saying anything about it? She could resent your success because her own struggle is tough right now. That's a feeling I recognize from times when I've slid back. She'll have to get herself turned around, on her own. Try and be patient, she may come around. You've done all you could do for now. Keep on keepin' on!

Too bad for her!! she's the one losing out. Live your life, you have no control off what she does or doesn't do--nor are you responsible for her behavior.

Don't hate the haters or they will get control of your emotions.

You have to worry about yourself first and others second, if they want you too. My wife won't focus on the effort it takes so I am more successful in my losses. I feel for her , knowing she is missing out on what I can do to help her. Butbit is their choice.
