Last week on January 24, 2015, I posted this on the Beauty Over 50 January Challenge and wanted to include it here, in my blogs.
3rd Check-in of the Year:
54 days, my walking streak continues.., at least 30 minutes every day.
This was my 5th week of following ChaLEAN's Extreme and I moved into using the Push Circuit workouts after completing 4 weeks of Burn Circuit strength training dvds. This changes the sets to 8 reps, using heavy weights, instead of 10-12 reps. Monday was a holiday so I did not teach the strength training class, the facility was closed due to MLK day. Wednesday's class from 5:30pm - 6:30pm filled all 12 cycling bikes, had to turn 5 people away, but invited them to come back in at 6:00 for the lower body strength training (4 of them did).
15 people for a Tuesday evening (20th) and I stayed after teaching my class and walked on a treadmill for 30 minutes up until they closed at 9pm. On Thursday evening (the 22nd), 7 people came to my earlier 5:10pm restorative yoga class on campus and 12 people came to my 6:30pm yoga class downtown.
In the first week's weigh-in on Wednesday (the 21st) for the BLC27 challenge, I lost 2.5 pounds from my initial weigh-in on the 14th of January.
This week's non-scale victories included:
Monday - A Spark friend who met me for a walk made an observation that my efforts are showing up in the way I look, she noticed a difference in my "body sculpting." We walked to a restaurant instead of driving. I did not eat the muffin nor croutons with my quiche Florentine and salad lunch. We walked back across the bridge after lunch.
Tuesday - I did not eat any homemade chocolate chip cookies that a co-worker brought into our office suite.
Friday - I did not eat any cookies nor buy any Girl Scout cookies at work. And I did not take any of the cake that was brought in, not a bite, not a taste.
