Snow snow and more SNOW

Living in Maine - we always say we're prepared and "We're New Englanders!" yes.....that's true...but yesterday SUCKED! The whole state was shut down - though I still had to work from home - even though the office was actually closed and most people got a nice day off. Oh well. Anyway the snow started around 2AM and by 7AM when I finally dragged my butt out of bed we already had about 6 inches. The snow in some places was up over my boots, and my poor single coated Yogi (who is barely 2 feet tall) had to be carried to a spot with a little less snow to do his business!
By 9AM a snow drift had started on my deck and was already about knee high. Working all day neither my husband nor myself had much time to go out and at least clean off the deck which by 5PM when we were finally able to get out and start clearing....was over my head, we couldn't even see out the sliding glass doors!
So we went about getting ourselves nice and layered up, me with two scarves and a hood, a sweater and shirt under my jacket and my husband the same but had the smarts to double up on the pants too! Then we set out to start digging out. THREE HOURS LATER.....the driveway was clear and we had some paths made, the deck was clear, but we gave up on the end of the driveway and called a neighbor to plow it out since we had snapped the pull cord on the gas snow blower the second time we started it. The wind was so bad and the snow so light that if you weren't blowing the snow in just the right direction 90% of it just came straight back to hit you in the face. I scared the crap out of my tenant when I showed up to grab her keys so I could move her car because I had ice on my eyebrows and eyelashes and the two scarves around my face had crusted over and become hard as a rock. My jacket had snow clinging to every inch and was stiff with ice - needless to say I looked like a real life Yeti!
And of course got another 3-4 inches overnight for a grand total of about 2 1/2 feet with heavy winds my poor hubby was back out this morning to snowblow a path to my tenants apartment and for the doggies to go potty. The wind had blown in all the work we had done the night before and you couldn't even tell where the paths were in the first place!
Either way WE SURVIVED! But it ROYALLY sucked.
Oh! P.S. tonight is my next appt with the personal trainer, I've done very well and haven't felt the need to stray from the eating plan he's given me at all. I'll be weighing in with him tonight as well but if my own scale is anything to go by I'm down by at least 5lbs! WOOHOO! FINALLY!
