I am not going to screw up and forget to post a blog again this week for the Involvement challenge on the San Antonio team.
We are continuing Meditation in the Park on Sundays. We had a nice group of folks this week which included a couple of spark friends. UNSTOPPABLEJEN, one of the SA team leaders and her husband SPURSFAN21 were kind enough to join us. Here's a couple photos taken after we finished up yesterday.

My daughter-in-law Becca leads the yoga portion before and after the meditation, but NOW we have incorporated a short meditation lesson given by ME! I was so excited and nervous about this on Sunday. I felt like I muddled through okay, but a LOT of refinement is needed. I'm working on my motivational speaking skills. I want to make an impact in a positive, life affirming way. It's a start!
One thing I try to stress in both meditation and in life in general is to be positive in your thoughts and in your mindset. I'm going to expand on this in the next lesson when we meet again next Sunday.
We had a fun chat and walk around the trail loop afterwards. It felt good to stretch our legs and enjoy the beautiful sunshine that came out to surprise us.
Speaking of surprises - We have progressed beyond just sun salutations to a few more moves that really challenge us, but are still doable at most fitness levels. I'm so happy at how much I'm able to do now! I am attributing it to my staying on course and going to the gym regularly, as well as working out at home when I don't go to the gym. I made it to the gym every day this past week, Monday through Friday!
Speaking of how much I am able to do now - I had a rather painful NSV (non-scale victory), but one I am quite proud of. My dad, Becca, and I were heading to the car to go to the gym this morning. I stubbed my foot on a raised brick and fell forward.
A few short months ago, I would have sprawled forward and been badly injured on the concrete driveway. Today, I was strong enough to throw my body towards Dad's van, grab the ladder on the back and swing myself towards the van. I hurt my hand. I wrenched myself all over the place (feeling it now, a couple hours later). What I did not do was I didn't go down. I DIDN'T FALL DOWN. This is HUGE for a person known for being klutzy. I used the muscles I've been developing to grab, pull, and hold myself up. Because I'm lighter AND stronger, I was able to do this. NON-SCALE VICTORY. And - I still went to the gym!
I took pictures when we got back from the gym so you could see what I was talking about as to my NON-fall...and just because I was feeling silly.
This is the loose (raised) brick I caught the toe of my shoe on beside the driveway that sent me sprawling.
I somehow managed to grab the ladder to my right as I was falling, and swung around to the side ala Spiderman.
There was a sharp edge on the side of the ladder where I grabbed, but I held on, swing my weight, and body slammed into the back of the van, but I did not, I repeat, DID NOT, fall down!
Artist's rendering of what could have been, but wasn't! Hahaha!
That's about it for now. I'll try to get more consistent with my blogging. I can't believe I used to blog one to two times per week. Once a week is going to be my new goal. Until the next time, Never give up, Never give in. As always, I love you all!
