Reese's and His Bed

Monday, January 19, 2015

Well, Reese's has had an exciting day. We always watch him so carefully b/c he is a lab puppy. Everyone knows they will get into everything. His biggest problem is that he "steals" pillows, shoes, etc. We always are where he is so he hasn't really eaten any of those things. He definitely eats blankets so we haven't been able to have one in his crate nor a crate bed. We have been trying him a little at a time with his bed in the crate and he has done wonderfully. Today we went for Hubby to get a massage and when we returned this is what we found:

Doesn't he really look sorry? Ears down and such a sad face.

Needless to say, he tore up his bed while we were gone. He has another one in our bedroom that he sleeps on at night, but he won't have one in the family room for a while. I guess he got bored even though he was only in the crate for 1.5 hrs. We will get him another for the family room b/c he really does like it.

I laughed so hard when you called me today and so did Jim. Poor Reeses, he just can't seem to stay out of trouble. I guess it is like you said, you can ship him to me and I'll turn him into an Ohio State Buckeye fan. emoticon

Our 50-lb husky/shepherd mix doesn't have a bed. We have to put her in her crate whenever we leave because of the level of her anxiety. We have bought her three crates because she has totally wrecked them. These are big metal bars and they are twisted and bent. Absolutely no bed! We have a thick composite fabric like a tarp that is on the crate floor, and she messes with that a lot, pulling it up and making a heap, but so far she hasn't torn it up. We have to give her a sedative when a storm comes in.

I have to laugh, because my little Bailey has done the same thing. Only his is stuffing and he loves laying on it. He doesn't eat it; just lays on it and moves it around. I bet he enjoyed tearing that up.

Reese's!! What were you thinking? Sweet boy.

Nancy, I kept a lab pup for a friend years ago and he managed to get out of his crate and did a number on the cat's bed. Those labs are intent on their mission!

    Happy bed shopping!
