Track, Measure and Focus
Saturday, January 17, 2015
Even though I haven't written a blog in over a year, a lot of you know that I've been around SP doing other activities. It's good for me to change up my routine from time to time and I've been spending a lot of my time on a couple of teams which was taking up the time that I used to spend writing blogs.
In a Spark of a moment, I signed up for the 2015 Winter 5% Challenge and joined the Walkers, Runners, Joggers & Gadgeters team. Talk about changing up my routine! Agreeing to participate in this Challenge has definitely given my days new focus.
After spending a considerable amount of time getting myself prepared for success, I realized that this 8 week Challenge would have to be my main focus for the next 8 weeks. 8 weeks isn't really that long; by the time we're done it's going to be almost Spring (even in Wisconsin!!)
So now I'm a week in and I'm pretty proud of myself. I promised myself that I would track and measure everything during these 8 weeks and the first week has definitely been a success. Everything I eat gets measured and tracked; the food scale and measuring cups are always close by. My fitness minutes are great for this halfway point of the month. I'm almost to my monthly goal already; a goal that I've struggled to meet the past few months. It helps that I'm doing 20 - 30 minutes right away in the morning; it sets the pace for the rest of the day. I look at what my teammates accomplish in a day and I am truly humbled. I don't compare myself to them but they definitely motivate me to do more!
I continue to have an amazing life and the twist and turns I take along the way only serve to make it all the more interesting! I won't wait for another year to pass before I post a blog again (as a matter of fact, I have another one in progress; as usual, the more I write, the more I want to write!!)
Oh yeah, and I lost 3 pounds this week!!
On to Week 2!!
