Daily Victories: 1/11... and other ramblings

Sunday, January 11, 2015

The victory for today is another no-gain weekend.... According to my scale I even lost fat and gained muscle!!! Yay!!!

Now to other ramblings...
So I am thinking about our upcoming family vacation... I am a bit daunted by the fact that this year we have booked an all-inclusive resort for the first time. Because of family dietary restrictions, there is only one restaurant on the resort in which we can eat... which is GREAT! We have never booked one before because there was never this option...
But I worry. It is not in the US, and there is no supermarket on or near the resort where I can pick up staples of healthy eating. I am totally dependant on the resort for my food needs....
I am sure there will be some iteration of fruits and vegetables... and I am packing some protein bars for snacks if I need. I am not worried about giving in to temptation, I am just concerned about not having any good choices... and certainly logging my food will entail a TON of guess-work.
I also am NOT going for the philosophy that a vacation is an excuse to indulge. If I went there than anything can be an excuse to indulge.
Vacations (and holidays etc.) can only be reasons to indulge when I get to maintenance... not when I am in weight-loss mode....
So these are the ramblings going on in my brain. I am hoping for the best... I'll keep you posted!

YEAH!!!! for the no gain weekend! That's a feat in itself! I believe, from what I'm understanding in your blog, that you have everything under control already. Any restaurant in the world should be able to accommodate your wishes, needs, and desires for your palate. You've armed yourself, with protein bars and you have the education from SP Land, about the size of your portions and comparing them to objects. If you think you might forget, take a copy of the article with you, or better yet, if you can, take a food scale with you. Girl, you've got this in the bag, and it's all by His Grace! Have FUN!!!

    Blessings!

You are smart to think about how you can eat on vacation before you leave.
