Weekends...

...are usually so hard for me when I start a new diet/exercise plan. It's hard enough to get into a workout routine on weekday mornings, but on weekends it seems even harder cause I feel like I should be "off". Decided not to buy into that mindset this time around. Got up a little later today, but still stuck to the same routine I've been establishing during the week - dressed in workout clothes as soon as my feet hit the floor, had a 100-calorie protein drink, and then did my daily workout. Showered and dressed and had the rest of the day to do whatever else I needed to do.
Went out to dinner with the family tonight, since it's my oldest son's last night home before returning to college tomorrow. We went to the Cheesecake Factory (eek!) because my hubby had gift cards to use up. Normally this would have thrown me off big-time. But I'm very proud of how I handled it. We had to wait over an hour for a table, so hubby suggested we get a drink at the bar. I declined. He must have been shocked because he asked again. I declined again - told him I was trying to be "good". When we finally got to our table, I asked hubby to move the bread basket away from me so I wouldn't be tempted. And I ordered 2 appetizers from the "Skinnylicious" menu instead of getting an entree. Worked out perfectly. I got the Ahi Tartare (raw tuna, avocado & pickled ginger with a couple of chips) - 260 cal, and the Chicken Lettuce Wrap Tacos (Asian style) - 450 cal. That adds up to 710 cal - a bit high for a normal dinner, but really not bad at all for a restaurant meal, and more importantly, not too carb-y. Since I didn't snack today, this was still within my calorie budget. It was very tasty and I did not feel deprived at all. (And I did not order any cheesecake either.)
Kinda feeling like a weekend warrior today.
