Down time

Saturday, January 10, 2015

Yesterday was a low key, hang-out-at-home-and-do-nothin
g kind of day...I think we all need those every now and again. I'm not sure if it was a bit of a hangover from the yoga/facial (she did a fairly deep massage, especially my shoulder/neck area during the facial) or residual virus in it's death throes, but I wasn't feeling 100%, so just kind of took it easy. I did get out for a walk, not too long, only about 3.5 miles. The creek is iced over! I hand't noticed that on my other walks, so I'm not sure if it just iced over yesterday, or if I'm simply not that observant! Or maybe it's just that I was walking nearer the creek yesterday. And it was overcast all day, not the sunshine we've had earlier in the week. I miss the sun! emoticon

I had missed knitting the other night, but did pick it up yesterday, even in the afternoon, after my walk! So I'll pat myself on the back for that! I've exceeded my weekly goal of 3 days, and have knitted 5 out of 6 days so far...even if it's just a couple of rows at a time.

The food logging is going OK, I do find I'm still doing less mindless munching, so that's a win. I probably need to give myself more time after dinner to digest and wait to see if I feel hungry before hitting post-dinner munchies. It's a work in progress.

Sounds like a great week--my virus in its death throws, too, lol. I'm kind of in between feeling good and 'meh' right now. Down time is good for the soul, however. You'll be out doing your regular stuff in no time!

Sounds like you have had a great week, with plenty of alone time to reflect and assess your goals. I have been logging my food for the past week, too. I'm not really focusing on the calorie totals, but I am definitely more aware of my eating when I log it (which I haven't in a while). I noticed that I was not getting enough veges in. This weekend I shopped with special focus on the fresh veggies and fruits. Yeaterday I put baby carrots out with dinner, and everyone lingered and chatted while munching carrots. This morning I put out a cut cantaloupe with our egg breakfast, and the bowl emptied in one pass around the table. Apparently my family has missed having fresh veggies and fruits, and I didn't even notice I wasn't offering them!

Everyone needs a rest day now and then. I have a snacking after dinner habit as well. Happy Saturday! emoticon

Keep smiling and positive, some down time is good and it seems like yours was still productive.
