If you recognize that phrase, then perhaps you are no stranger to 12 step programs.

Neither am I. I have been a member of Al Anon for years; it was the only thing that helped me survive my husband's alcoholism.

Now though, I walk on the other side, the side of the addict. Already, though my sobriety is only a week old, I feel better. I feel empowered, like I can do this. I've set aside my troubled marriage, and today I focus on taking care of myself, and working through recovery.

90 in 90.

I'm attending 90 12 step meetings in 90 days. Realistically, it'll be more than that, but that's the goal. Some days I do more than one, some days I attend more than one program. The net result is progress towards recovery.

I have reconnected with God, my Higher Power, to use 12 step parlance. I have devoted my life to him anew, and am committing myself to him in a way that I never have before, because he's the only way I'm going to survive this and recover to live a healthy, addiction-free life.

I can do this. I will do this.
