I'm burnin' up!

Ok, ok... my title is a bit misleading. This blog should be about how I had a killer workout and burned tons of fat.

It's not.

It is, however, about how I ripped a few new CD's I got for Christmas onto my computer last night, and downloaded a couple new "peppy" songs to play while working out (including one called I'm burnin up). Back when I was jogging on a regular basis I did enjoy getting into the groove with some good music. So I thought some new tunes might be nice and motivating.

My plan, beginning TODAY, is to do 3 days/week of a beginner's body weight workout, and 2 days of a beginners HIIT training workout (optional yoga in the mornings and/or weekends just because I like it). Both workouts are under 30 minutes, so no excuses about not having the time. My goal is to do this for 4 weeks, and then check my progress (hoping this will avoid the de-motivation from not seeing progress fast enough). I will then decide on my next 4 week plan and goal.

I think sometimes I end up in an "all or nothing" rut without realizing it, instead of going with my "one choice at a time" mentality. It is easier to say I'll start fresh tomorrow, or Monday, or the beginning of the month, then it is to encourage yourself to get back on track right NOW.

So today so far I'm right on track with my food choices, drinking enough water, and I have my plan for my workout tonight (and for the next 4 weeks). All I have to do it stick with it!
