December '14 Results & January '15 Goals

Monday, January 05, 2015

So my 1st Blog Challenge for the Snowy Leopards is to review my December 2014 results & post my January 2015 goals.

When I went for my annual physical & had my labs done, my DR was very concerned as my Triglycerides were over 400 & my A1c was 9.1 (extremely high, should be under 7). So she started my on Levemir insulin injections, I had to cease taking after only a week due to breaking out in hives, but it did jump start a weight loss track. I managed to drop from183 to 181.5 in December. emoticon emoticon finally the scale has moved in the correct direction.

Now that I've started a new medication (Onglyza), my goal is with taking this med along with restructuring my nutrition & adding in more exercise that I can see a steady weight loss.

My January goals are:

*Being consistent with water intake of 10 cups daily
*5 Daily servings of Freggies
*Work on creating a sleeping pattern of 7 hours minimum nightly
*Walking daily , reaching a weekly goal of 120 minutes to reestablish a workout program
*Reach a weight of 18
*Limiting Frozen dinners which are so high in sodium & preservatives.

Working my plan, I aim for success! emoticon

Ready to make this a month of new motivation & strategies.

Keep "fighting the fight" and lives gets better. Your goals and knowledge of what you need to do to be healthy will make you successful.
It's sometimes hard to take these little steps when we want to leap forward, but I'm finding small steps forward are a part of the process to reach our goals.

Yes, with diabetes it's really a 3-prong treatment (like stool w/3 legs). Nutrition, medication and exercise are needed to balance things out. If not all present, things won't progress to getting better! HUGS and good luck.
