Winter 5% Challenge/ Motivation for 2015

Today's assignment is to list all the reasons I want to lose weight. What do I want to change? How do I want to look? How do I want to feel? What things will I be able to do in the future with a slimmer healthier body?
First, I need to work on believing I am worth the effort. Some days this is easier than others. I tend to allow the opinion of others affect how I feel about myself. I am self-conscious, insecure, and overly criticle of myself. My journey to a healthier lifestyle must start with a healthier attitude and frame of mind.
Once I get over that hurdle I can look forward to improving myself on many levels.
I currently have recurring chest pain. It is aggravated by stress but I know that I can reduce/eliminate it by changing my lifestyle habits. I am on medications for my heart condition but I believe I can improve to the point that I will not need to take them in the future.
I want to be able to jump into an outfit and feel that it looks good on me...even if it is just casual wear.
I want to be able to feel confident that I can keep up when friends or family want to go for a hike, or head to the river for a swim.
I want to be more flexible. Right now it is a struggle to put on my shoes or look over my shoulder. I want my movements to be easy and fluid.
Lastly, I want to learn to better manage my stress, so I will be incorporating meditation into my daily routine.
In March I go to Hawaii, and in a year I will turn 50...it is time for me to make a long-term commitment to getting (and staying) fit and healthy!
