When did that freakin' happen?

Wednesday, December 31, 2014

I got a gift card for Target from my daughter to buy some workout clothes. I'm a stinky sweater, so they tend to not last too long even with very regular washing. I found some tights and tops and went to try them on.

I'm not big on looking at myself in the mirror. I mean I'm 5'4 and weigh about 185 lbs. I'm obese...get it? Got it? Good! Now today I took a real good look at myself (those angled mirrors are awesome for this). My butt is smaller. My legs almost have some definition. My shoulders are getting strong.

But HOLY CRAP, when did I get the back muscles? I mean, I have real back muscles!!

I still have the roll mid back where the back and boobs meet (at least that's what I tell myself it is), but there is definite back muscle definition going on back there. Right there I again told the scale it can do something down and dirty with itself. I believe the word started with an F. Yes, yes it did.

The scale doesn't reveal everything. It's just a number and not a true reflection of change or fitness!

What is normally a negative experience for me (trying on clothes) turned into my feeling like a bada**.

Now I'm going to go get ready to lift something heavy, have an awesome dinner with the hubby and family, and then have some adult beverages.

2014 was good, but 2015 is going to be unstoppable!
